WE ARE CURRENTLY IMPLEMENTING THE EU PROJECT
New thermochemical biomass and waste treatment system for industrial low-power heat and power plants
Compared to direct biofuel combustion, the thermochemical biomass and waste gasification process is more efficient, economical and less polluting, with significantly lower emissions of greenhouse and other harmful gases.
However, although numerous studies that identify the basic regularities of various biomass and waste gasification have been carried out, due to many unresolved scientific and technological uncertainties, biomass and waste gasification is still not widely used in gasification plants.
OUR COMPANY’S ACHIEVEMENTS
Our company – Biopower Industries – has been developing and manufacturing heat and power generation equipment for 12 years. In addition, for more than 5 years, we work together with scientists of the Lithuanian Energy Institute to study thermogravitational processes, the impact of different fuels on process parameters, air input to process control instruments, and the design and modeling of gasification facilities.
We have already developed a new thermochemical conversion process for synthetic gases from wood and solid, non-recoverable, but energy-efficient municipal waste, and produced the first prototype of the gasification plant for combustion of this waste.
Our research results:
- there are real prerequisites for the creation of a new thermochemical biomass and waste treatment system,
- scientific uncertainties are identified and unresolved while the uncertainties of R & D activity are solved.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE AND RESULTS
The project is aimed at creating a new thermochemical biomass and waste treatment system for the development of industrial low-power heat and power generation plants.
Project results – 2 products without analogs in other markets:
- high-density compact fuel briquettes from waste wood, energy-fueled combustible municipal waste mixtures and a new type of coke/ash removal system;
- 1 market novelty: modernized gasification plant.
The Biopower Industries project “New thermochemical biomass and waste treatment system for industrial low-power heat and power plants” (J05-LVPA-K-03-0048) will be implemented from 2018 June 04 to 2020 May 30.
The project has been funded under Measure No 1 of Priority 1 “Promoting Research, Experimental Development and Innovation” of the European Union funds (European Regional Development Fund) Investment Opportunities 2014-2020. J05-LVPA-K “Intelligence. Common scientific and business projects “.
Project budget: 1 210 622,18 Eur.
